The New Priestess - 2014

So this is the first time I've actually re-drawn a piece, not just for this project, but I think period. If I re-draw something, it tends to be something that I only sketched out, but this may be the first time I've re-drawn a piece after it was done.

When I did the original, I wasn't entirely pleased with it. I had sketched it out and convinced myself that I dug the pose I came up with, added some runes, and called it a day. For this piece, I actually traced the original thumbnail pose after blowing it up, sat down with my skull for a better reference on the head, and went from there. I also removed the runes since they didn't seem to add anything to the piece.

I think this piece has more going for it than the original.
