Government Censorship - Protecting You From Reality

Government Censorship - Protecting You From Reality

Client: Personal

This is a really good example of why you should never throw away an idea.

Back in college I had an idea of just doing a parody of the Parental Advisory sticker that was on CD's. I was doing a lot of anti-censorship stuff, and after learning about typography, I wanted to give this a shot.

I actually invented the phrase as well. Government Censorship always seemed like a way of trying the sheild the public from what they shouldn't know. Creating that feeling in broad blakc-and-white just made sense.

Since then, the piece has been used by countless groups in countless protests around the world. To some, it's synonomous with the problems anyone in any country has when their government tries to sheild them from reality.
