Holiday Card Sketch 2013

So I've been working on this since Monday.

Its rare that I have a long bad drawing streak, but this is the piece that started it. I had a sketch I wanted to do, and once I sat down to work on it I decided to do a warm-up instead. Well, the warm-up just annoyed me, I didn't like how it felt, and it zapped my confidence for a few days.

I spent a day just trying to sketch another idea, and wound up burning through 3 different pieces that I despised. In the end, the first piece kept looking better and better.

Today I sat down and started refining it a bit more. I was tempted to start inking it, but decided to hold-off for now until I had a bit more time.
