"Set the World Afire!"

Back around June or July of 2004, a Megadeth fan (Or Droogie) named Alisa Mugano. Her idea was this; make a book for Dave Mustaine, leader of Megadeth, for his birthday. I contribuited a piece of fan art I did to the book, and a messeage from the heart. The following September, I got a messeage from Dave McRobb, the webmaster of the band's website; "I need to talk to you right away. PM [Private Messeage] me back as soon as you get this. It's important, about your artwork." Well, needless to say, I couldn't believe it! I had a feeling this was going to be big, so I quickly sent him a PM back to find out what was going on. I got one back asking for my phone number, and I sent him my cell number. I got a call from him an hour later, telling me that Dave had seen my art in the book and wanted to use it for his upcoming tour.

I can tell you right now, it was simply the greatest moment of my life! Here I was, 19 years old, in a small commercial art school, trying to make it out on my own and struggling, and I have just been given a once-in-a-lifetime chance at glory. I was being asked to do art for a Multi-Platnium band I loved! The image was going to be used on t-shirts, passes... who knew what else! I had to act fast, and I did!

McRobb told me what he needed; the image I did sent to him by that night. The problem was, all the files for the project were at home, not my laptop. To make matters worst, the Internet had been turned off at my hous, and it was Friday. I had to do it ASAP! I told every teacher I knew about this, and they were excited for me, too! So when I told them I had to leave early to get this done, they understood. So a quick run home, blaring some of my favorite Mgadeth songs along the way, and a stop back at school, I went to work. I checked my e-mails and found the offical Megadeth logo in my e-mail box. Dave had said he wanted to go for the Gold logo in the original, but only had silver. He also added he wanted me to add a swan to the piece since "it's Dave's 'Swan Song' Tour." Over 3 hours and a bunch of e-mails back and forth, and the fact I had to do this all at school and after school, I had it done.
